Children-to-Children Teddy bear hugs project Print E-mail
UPFI has partnered and affiliated with Children-of- the-Earth , an educational non-profit and official NGO of the United Nations, promotes; global consciousness and cooperation, multi-cultural understanding, spiritual values, ethical living skills and social responsibility, to collect and give out hundred of teddy bears, called peace bear hugs to children faced with conflicts.

Children living in IDP camps Kitgum district recently received these teddy bears collected and sent by children of Pulaski middle school, New Britain, Connecticut; Colchester Schools, Colchester, Vermont; and Champlain Valley Union High School, Hinesburg, Vermont students in Vermont USA. These teddy bears were distributed to kids in Labuje camps in Kitgum district on 21st Sept 2007, International day of peace.

Hundreds of more teddy bears are being also collected by children from Belgium and shall be given out to kids who were born in the camps in Kitgum as a gesture of hope, love and care for them.
